Dublin Youth Theatre Scoops Better Together Award

Dublin Youth Theatre, a youth project supported by Clann Credo, has won a national video competition for community and voluntary groups. The organisation, which offers quaility arts experiences for young people aged 14 - 22, was awarded first-prize in the category for meduim-sized organisations at the Better Together Awards at the Chester Beatty Library in Dublin on 25 November.

Over 200 charities, clubs and community groups from across Ireland submitted videos to the Better Together! Campaign's website (www.bettertogether.ie) where the public can find and engage with organisations, clubs and groups in their area. The campaign was developed by The Wheel to build public support for community and voluntary groups.

The other winners were: Blarney Community Council (Winner: Volunteer Organisation) and Longford Women's Link (Winner: Large Organisations). Each of the winners received a €3,000 cash prize.

Commenting on the quality of the videos, Deirdre Garvey, Chief Executive of The Wheel said: “These videos capture the energy, vibrancy and diversity of Ireland’s community and voluntary sector. They entertain, move and - above all - inspire.”
