A bridging loan provided by Clann Credo - the Social Investment Fund earlier this year assisted Abbeyshrule Tidy Village Association in their overall work that has lead to their winning the Tidy Towns Competition for 2012.
Mark Costello, Project Co-ordinator with the Association, said that due to the costs involved their success “wouldn’t have
happened without Clann Credo”. Bridging finance was provided by Clann Credo pending the payment of LEADERfunding.
Congratulating Abeyshrule on their success, Paul O’Sullivan, CEO of Clann Credo, said that community based organisations such as these are at the core of Clann Credo financing policy and priorities.
“Clann Credo provides development and bridging loans to dozens of similar local community groups and organisations countrywide, at a time when finance and loans from conventional banking sources can be difficult to access.
“Often such finance makes the difference between success or failure for a community based venture like Abbeyshrule Tidy Village Association,” he said.
