Ballinlough GFC

Ballinlough Gaelic Football Club was formed in 1897. Their 180 members have the use of a full sized pitch, floodlights, dressing rooms and meeting rooms. More recently due to local demand the Club have provided the use of a walking and running track around the existing football field. The running and walking track has been a great success used by elderly, parents while children are training and many others in the community.

The main funding for the project was grant aid from Meath LEADER Partnership and Clann Credo provided the necessary finance to cash flow the work.

This new track encourages physical activity and social interaction for people in this rural community. It is an excellent amenity for the community of Ballinlough. The Club continues to run new and innovative Community Fundraising Events including a Strictly Come Dancing Event, sale of timber and race nights to help improve amenities for the town.

A key challenge for many committees or organisations with plans to develop or expand their facilities is the availability of finance.  Seamus McGee of Ballinlough GFC said “Clann Credo provided invaluable financial help to us through bridging finance and affordable term loans, without which our project could not have been started or completed."
